CINEMA, GIG, AND VINTAGE POSTERS
An original movie poster is usually a poster that was distributed for a movie by the National Screen Service (NSS), a movie studio, or by another company given permission by the studio for exhibiting in a cinema to coincide with the release of the film. movie posters are distributed to cinemas for display and are not normally issued for resale, making them highly collectible pieces in some cases. The main original cinema posters are the UK Quad (40x30” landscape) and the US One sheet (40x27” portrait). Posters Pre 1990 were mainly issued folded, which is why you see the lines in them. Posters post 1990 were also in the main printed double sided (for use in a light box to project the image better).
